My first week at NexGen Cloud has been an incredibly insightful and engaging experience. The onboarding program was exceptionally well-structured, ensuring a smooth transition into the team while providing deep exposure to NexGen’s flagship product — HyperStack.
The first day began with a warm welcome and an introduction to NexGen Cloud’s vision, culture, and products, focusing on HyperStack — our cutting-edge AI Cloud GPU platform.
The highlight of the next day was gaining access to the HyperStack Playground (Dev environment), where I could interact with the platform, experiment with GPU provisioning, and get hands-on experience. This practical exposure helped me connect the theoretical concepts with real-world application.
I also got access to Jira, Confluence, and Gitea, where I reviewed the onboarding repo, set up MFA and signed commits, and familiarized myself with our Infra projects and ticketing approach.
The day wrapped up with an overview meeting with my manager, @Shahed Mehbub, where we discussed my role, responsibilities, and the upcoming projects.
Next two days focused on understanding NexGen’s day-to-day infrastructure operations. I attended a DevOps team walkthrough on the current release process, explored Gitea repos related to infrastructure and automation, and reviewed our API Platform documentation from docs.hyperstack.cloud.
It was an excellent opportunity to understand how different teams collaborate across the Infra and DevOps domains.
Additionally, I completed my Security Training, ensuring compliance and readiness for system access.
We also went through a weekly reflection session that encouraged us to think about:
1. What was most interesting
2. What we want to learn more about
3. What we found challenging
I shared that the HyperStack API structure and automation flows were particularly fascinating and that I’m eager to explore more around deployment automation and observability.
My first week at NexGen Cloud has been an exceptional blend of learning, collaboration, and inspiration. The structured onboarding program, guided mentorship, and the company’s vision for HyperStack have made me confident that I’ve joined a truly innovative team.
I’m excited to dive deeper into upcoming projects, contribute to NexGen’s mission of building the next-gen cloud platform, and grow alongside this brilliant team.
